Fort Nelson---Finally WiFi

We have spent last 3 days at Prophet Lake Provincial Park which is abandoned.  Lovely camping area.  We did about 3 miles of hiking each day which was quite enough for me.  Very few birds but plenty of bears along Alcan Highway.  Road between Fort St. John and Fort Nelson was an easy drive.  Our next leg to Watson Lake will take longer.  Lots of steep climbs and rapid descents.
Miles and Miles of trees and mountains.  It amazes me that it only took 8 months for this road to be built.
We have slowed down and are waiting for Gary and Floy to catch up with us.  This is the abandoned campground we stayed in for 3 days.  It appears that the locals keep it up because it was in really good shape.  Lots of off-road trails through here.
One of the better off-road trails we hiked on.  Didn't see any animals.
The Alcan between Fort St. John and Fort Nelson.  Hilly.
This unknown critter left evidence of having been lounging beside the Prophet River.
Another beautiful bear.  This one was up on the rise beside the road really intent on eating.  We pulled off the road in Olivia and he allowed us to observe him for quite awhile.  I would name him The Careful Eater.
Bob and I hiked down...down...down...to the River.  Note all the trees washed up on shore.
Birdie is so busy getting supplies from nature's store for The Nest.

And after 3 days, Traveler has his sunglasses and is ready to go.  Me too.
